Introducing 99designs by VistaPrint
How might we ...
Introduce VistaPrint customers to 99designs – a top-tier custom design platform newly acquired by Vista?
Context
In early 2021, Vista acquired 99designs, a global platform connecting clients with design experts for custom digital and print design needs.
I was the copy lead on a small project tiger team tasked with introducing the newly rebranded 99designs by VistaPrint service through a multi-month, multi-channel marketing campaign.
Here's how we did it.
We workshopped, refined, tested, and developed a mult-channel campaign that told the newly rebrand 99designs by Vista story in chapters.
Each chapter highlighted a unique customer opportunity and value proposition: high-quality custom designs, uniquely talented artists, wide range of printable products, and more. In each instance, we blended identifiable elements of the 99designs and VistaPrint brands, to create something familiar, yet new to our customers.
The campaign culminated with 99 Days of Design, an activation in which VistaPrint and 99designs showcased small businesses around the world through partnerships with Complex, Refinery29, Huck, and Claima Stories.
Project results & takeaways
-
99 Days of Design aided 99 small businesses in 12 countries.
-
The initiative was featured in global markets, including coverage in Forbes.
-
I used the exploration and feedback from this process to develop a copy style guide – this documentation was used by VistaPrint's global creative team for all 99designs by VistaPrint promotions created for VistaPrint marketing channels.
-
The tiger team model we adopted was scaled up for use on follow-up speciality or high-visibility initiatives.
-
The presentation deck model I developed for this initiative was adopted by other teams for use in larger-scale project presentations.
